To start your career in arboriculture – anything from tree surgery to maintaining vegetation around the electrical network – you will need specific qualifications.

Our arboriculture career pathway provides the basic course information you need to progress into different commercial and utility arboriculture roles.

Training

Performance development reviews (appraisals)
We offer all employees the opportunity to participate in performance development reviews, in which we set clear objectives and measure progress against achievements. We also consider their future and career progression.

Individual coaching and mentoring
Our managers ensure teams have the skills to perform in their roles. There is ample guidance and support available to all staff, either through co-workers or an assigned mentor.

Our excellent safety record is achieved by staff and management working together to identify and manage the risks we each face on a daily basis. Our equipment, training, checks and reporting systems are all top-notch. 

Occupational health provision

bts partnered with an external occupational health provider to provide on-hand professional support and guidance on all health and wellbeing matters in the workplace to all employees.

Health surveillance

bts carries out proactive surveillance of the health and wellbeing of all our staff to ensure and certify their fitness to work. With this health intervention process in place we are can actively prevent, address and monitor any employee health and well-being matters

Management training

bts encourages the development and training of managers in aspects of health and well-being in order for them to better support and manage their teams. Training includes, but is not limited to: mental health awareness, behavioural safety training, drugs and alcohol awareness.

Our ethos of continuous development supports our drive to ensure the health and well-being of our team.
